~ Governor Greg Abbott, accompanied by various state officials and supporters, attended the groundbreaking ceremony for the Aplin Center at Texas A&M University today. The center, which is set to be completed in February 2028, will serve as an experiential learning hub and welcome center for the university.
During his remarks, Governor Abbott expressed his excitement for the Aplin Center and its potential to expand educational opportunities at Texas A&M. He praised the center as a "premier laboratory for innovation" that will provide students with hands-on learning experiences in hospitality, retail, and food and nutrition sciences.
The Governor also took a moment to recognize Beaver Aplin III, founder of Buc-ee's Holdings Inc., for his contributions to the state. He credited Buc-ee's success in changing the way Americans travel as inspiration for how the Aplin Center will change the way future Aggies learn.
