~ In a show of support for the families affected by the recent catastrophic floods in the Hill Country, Governor Greg Abbott joined the Vaqueros del Mar Texas Flood Relief Fund today as they presented $25,000 checks to those in need. The funds were raised through last month's "Strait to the Heart" benefit concert, hosted by country music legend George Strait and Estancia Estates Founder Tom Cusick.

During the check presentation, Governor Abbott expressed his dedication to helping those impacted by the devastating floods. "We as a State are working tirelessly to make sure that the recovery process is as easy and effective as possible," he stated. "If you have a need in your area, let us know. There are a lot of people here to assist you with those needs." He also reassured families that there is more help on the way.

After his remarks, Governor Abbott took time to meet with families whose homes were damaged or destroyed by the floods. He promised that Texas will stand with them until they are able to fully rebuild and recover.

Representative Wes Virdell, Texas Division of Emergency Management Chief Nim Kidd, and Mr. Cusick were also present at the check presentation alongside Governor Abbott. Last month, Governor Abbott attended the "Strait to the Heart" benefit concert which raised over $6 million for impacted Texans.

The generous donations from this event will go a long way in helping these families piece their lives back together after such a devastating natural disaster. As recovery efforts continue, Governor Abbott and other state officials remain committed to providing support and assistance to those in need.
