~ Eagle Pass, Texas - Governor Greg Abbott welcomed former President Donald J. Trump to the Texas-Mexico border today for a border security briefing with state officials. The two leaders toured portions of Texas' comprehensive border security operations at Shelby Park and discussed the unprecedented actions taken by Texas to secure the border in President Biden's absence.

These officials highlighted the various tools and strategies deployed by Operation Lone Star to secure the Texas-Mexico border.

Deputy Director Martin praised DPS troopers for their efforts under Operation Lone Star to stop the flow of fentanyl into the country. He revealed that over 468 million lethal doses of fentanyl have been seized by Texas law enforcement - enough to kill every man, woman, and child in America.

Major General Suelzer then briefed former President Trump on the work being done by the Texas National Guard to protect and defend the border in light of President Biden's absence. He specifically mentioned their efforts at Shelby Park which have helped curb illegal crossings.

Border Czar Banks also praised Operation Lone Star's border security measures, which have resulted in a decrease in illegal border crossings into Texas. He credited the efforts of Texas National Guard soldiers and DPS troopers for this success.

Governor Abbott also took the opportunity to update former President Trump on Texas' ongoing border security efforts. He reiterated his commitment to securing the border and announced plans to build a Forward Operating Base in the Del Rio sector to house Texas National Guard soldiers responding to President Biden's border crisis.
