~ In a meeting at the Texas Capitol in Austin, Governor Greg Abbott sat down with CenterPoint Energy's President and CEO, Jason P. Wells, and Executive Vice President of Regulatory and Government Affairs, Jason Ryan, to discuss the company's proposal for better responding to future severe weather events.

The meeting lasted over two and a half hours as Governor Abbott thoroughly reviewed each line of CenterPoint Energy's proposal. This came after the Governor had previously directed the company to improve their preparation and response practices for severe weather events in Southeast Texas.

However, Governor Abbott expressed his dissatisfaction with the proposed plan, stating that it was inadequate and not moving fast enough. He stressed the importance of fulfilling all of his original directives and completing restoration projects such as vegetation removal and pole replacement before the next tropical storm hits the region.
