Boyd, a resident of Boerne, brings a wealth of experience and expertise to this role. He is the owner and president of Doug Boyd Builder, a company specializing in custom home building and renovation. In addition, he serves as a national and state board member for the Coastal Conservation Association.

Boyd's dedication to conservation and protection of marine life is evident through his previous roles. He has served as a board member and vice chairman for the Sport Fishing and Boating Partnership Council and the National Fish Habitat Action Plan under the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. He has also held positions as vice chair and council chairman for the National Marine Fisheries Gulf of Mexico Fishery Management Council.
