~ On September 21, 2023, Texas Governor Greg Abbott issued a proclamation renewing the disaster declaration for Bee, Brewster, Brooks, Caldwell, Cameron, Chambers, Colorado, Crane, Crockett, Culberson, DeWitt, Dimmit, Duval, Edwards, El Paso, Frio, Galveston and other counties in the state.

The proclamation was issued in accordance with Section 418.014 of the Texas Government Code and is an amendment to the original disaster proclamation issued on May 31st 2021. The proclamation states that the surge of individuals unlawfully crossing the Texas-Mexico border continues to pose an ongoing and imminent threat of disaster for a number of Texas counties and all state agencies affected by this disaster.

The proclamation also states that all orders and authorizations provided in the Proclamation of May 31st 2021 are still in full force and effect. Copies of this proclamation have been filed with applicable authorities as required by statutory requirements.

Governor Abbott signed his name to officially cause the Seal of State to be affixed at his office in Austin City. Jane Nelson attested as Secretary of State.
