~ In a recent report released by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics and the Texas Workforce Commission, it was revealed that Texas has once again topped the nation in job creation. Governor Greg Abbott praised the hardworking Texans and Texas employers for their contributions to this achievement.

According to the March 2025 employment data, Texas has reached new highs in various areas, including total jobs, number of Texans working, and size of the labor force. The state currently boasts a record-breaking labor force of 15,778,500 and a total of 15,137,500 employed individuals.

Governor Abbott attributed this success to the state's booming economy and highly skilled workforce. He also highlighted how Texas continues to attract businesses from all over the country and around the world due to its favorable business climate.

To further support job growth in the state, Governor Abbott announced last week that Collin County Community College District will receive over $1.3 million in job training grants. These grants will be used for customized workforce training programs in high-demand fields such as healthcare, accounting, and manufacturing.

Expanding career training has been a top priority for Governor Abbott this legislative session. He declared it as one of his seven emergency items earlier this year. This week, two bills aimed at expanding career and technical education were passed by the Texas House of Representatives.

In addition to job creation efforts, Governor Abbott also commended the Texas House for passing House Bill 2 which provides record funding for public education.

With an increase of 26,500 jobs in March alone and a total of 192,100 nonfarm jobs added from March 2024 to March 2025, Texas is leading the nation in job growth. As Governor Abbott continues to prioritize economic development and career training initiatives, it is expected that Texas will maintain its position as a leader in job creation for years to come.
