~ At a press conference held at the Governor's Mansion in Austin, Governor Greg Abbott proudly announced that Texas has once again been awarded the prestigious Governor's Cup by Site Selection magazine. This marks the 12th consecutive year and 20th overall win for Texas, solidifying its position as the top state for attracting new and expanded business facility projects.
In his statement, Governor Abbott attributed this success to Texas' pro-business environment and strategic investments in infrastructure, education, and workforce development. He emphasized that by cutting red tape and regulations, businesses are given the freedom to grow while Texans are provided with the necessary tools to prosper.
The Governor expressed his gratitude to the economic development teams at the local, regional, and state level for their hard work in attracting and retaining these businesses. He also acknowledged their role in creating jobs in diverse communities across Texas. Together, they continue to build a bigger and better Texas for generations to come.

Joining Governor Abbott for this announcement were Site Selection magazine Editor in Chief Mark Arend, Secretary of State Jane Nelson, members of the Texas Legislature, as well as business, economic development, and state leaders from various communities across the state.
The Governor's Cup is awarded annually by Site Selection since 1978 to recognize the top-performing state for job-creating business relocations and expansions. The magazine provides valuable information for decision-makers involved in expansion planning such as CEOs, corporate real estate executives, facility planners, human resource managers, and consultants to corporations.
With an unmatched record of attracting over 1,200 new and expanded business projects in 2023 alone - more than double that of any other state - it is no surprise that Texas has once again claimed this prestigious title. As Governor Abbott aptly stated: "Texas moves at the speed of business."
