Doubt Goblins, Bigly Feels, and AWEpreciation help women name emotional patterns with clarity, humor, and self-compassion.
The Badass Arts™, founded by Tina Bernard, is bringing a playful vocabulary to conversations about personal growth, emotional awareness, and midlife reinvention.
Through The Badass Arts™ lexicon, Bernard gives women accessible ways to name experiences that can otherwise feel heavy or difficult to explain. The evolving vocabulary includes signature terms such as Radical AWEpreciation™, Bigly Feels™, and Doubt Goblins™, along with Pattern Paralysis and Badassfirmations.
"Like many women my age who are interested in personal growth, I had read a lot of books, taken oodles of courses, and built what I jokingly call a verifiable 'shelf-help' collection," Bernard said. "But I was frustrated by practices that sometimes felt more performative than transformative and did not change my life in the ways I had hoped."

A Doubt Goblin™ is the internal voice that questions a woman's instincts, magnifies uncertainty, and creates compelling reasons for her to remain small or stay stuck. Bigly Feels™ describes the intense emotions that can temporarily overwhelm perspective and make it harder to respond thoughtfully. Pattern Paralysis refers to the experience of recognizing an unhelpful pattern while still feeling unable to interrupt it.
"Bigly Feels was a phrase that came to me years ago because it captured the full range of what I might be experiencing, whether I felt joyful and expansive or completely overwhelmed," Bernard said. "What I loved was that I could name the intensity without judging it."

Bernard's language has become an integral part of her curated salons, speaking engagements, workshops, and transformational experiences. Women frequently repeat the terms during discussions and use them to describe experiences in their own lives.

The lexicon also includes Badassfirmations, intentional statements designed to support new emotional and behavioral patterns, and Radical AWEpreciation™, an expanded approach to appreciation that encourages women to notice beauty and wonder in everyday life.
"The language is playful, but the pattern disruption is real. Women can use laughter to see themselves more clearly, rather than becoming what I call Be'self-defecating,'" she concluded.
