Supporting Higher Learning by Giving Back to High School Seniors
AUSTIN, Texas - Txylo -- United Heritage Credit Union and the United Heritage Charity Foundation have proudly awarded two $10,000 scholarships to outstanding recent high school graduates, Katelynn Bates and Gino Burke. The scholarships, totaling $20,000 this year, were presented at the Dell Diamond in Round Rock, home of the Round Rock Express.
Katelynn Bates from Fate, Texas, and Gino Burke from Pflugerville, Texas, were selected from a competitive pool of applicants located across the state of Texas. The committee's decision was based on their exceptional academic achievements, their essay response and their embodiment of the credit union philosophy, "People Helping People." Both students demonstrated a strong commitment to community and civic service, active participation in extracurriculars, and outstanding scholastic performance. Katelynn received her award on Thursday, July 31, and Gino on Sunday, August 3.
