Donations came from a partnership where funds were donated for each new home loan with UHCU.
AUSTIN, Texas - Txylo -- United Heritage Credit Union (UHCU) is proud to announce an additional $15,000 donation to Austin Pets Alive! (APA) supporting their lifesaving animal welfare efforts. This donation was made possible through UHCU's Buy a House, Get a Puppy campaign in which UHCU pledged to give $300 to APA for every funded mortgage during the campaign timeframe. This initiative reflects UHCU's dedication to serving its members and making a positive impact in the community. By partnering with APA, a leading animal welfare organization local to Austin, UHCU aims to facilitate pet adoptions, promote responsible pet ownership, and contribute to the well-being of animals in need.
UHCU and APA collaborated throughout the campaign, being featured on Studio 512 on KVUE, and sharing the stories of their available animals in need. Employees from United Heritage Credit Union even spent hours volunteering at one of APA's shelter locations.
During the campaign, 50 new home loans were funded, with a donation of $300 per loan that went towards the new homeowner's own pet adoption or solely to APA if they chose not to adopt. This loan activity is what led to the $15,000 total donation at the end of the campaign.

Austin Pets Alive! is a leader in the no-kill movement, saving thousands of at-risk animals each year through innovative programs and community partnerships. The impact of donations to Austin Pets Alive! is profound: just $500 can save the life of a single dog or cat by covering shelter, food, and basic medical care, while $2,500 provides a kennel that can shelter 13 dogs annually. This $15,000 donation is in addition to UHCU's $20,000 donation as part of a partnership with United Heritage Charity Foundation.
"Our Buy a House, Get a Puppy campaign was a huge success, and we're so grateful for the support of our members. It's incredibly rewarding to know that we've helped both people and pets through this initiative.
