DALLAS - Txylo -- Alan Barnes Fine Art will present Mireille Binoux: The Anthology Exhibition, celebrating the vibrant life and distinguished career of French Colorist Mireille Binoux, née Gouirand. On view December 10 through December 22, 2026, the exhibition will feature 24 original large-scale oil paintings showcasing Binoux's distinctive use of color, form and composition. The exhibition marks the largest presentation of her original oil paintings in the U.S., featuring works brought from France and specially framed in Los Angeles.
Born in Nice on November 29, 1929, Binoux demonstrated an exceptional talent for painting from a young age. She earned a scholarship to study under Professor Eugène Narbonne at the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris, where she studied from 1947 to 1955.
During her years in Paris, Binoux became immersed in the city's post-war bohemian cultural scene centered around Saint-Germain-des-Prés. Her circle included painter Bernard Buffet, sculptor César, singer Juliette Gréco and actor Jean-Pierre Cassel, placing her among the era's notable artistic and cultural figures.

Shortly after graduating, Binoux won a prestigious competition to design interior décor for New York's Waldorf Astoria Hotel. She was later commissioned to create décor for its celebrated annual April in Paris event. In 1956, she married French architect Jacques Binoux in Boston and began signing her work as Mireille Binoux.
After exhibiting at the Salon d'Automne in Paris in 1953, Binoux gained further recognition through exhibitions in Cambridge, Massachusetts, in 1956 and Boston in 1957 before returning to France. A passionate traveler, she drew inspiration from journeys throughout Egypt, the Middle East, Thailand, Japan, Turkey, Guatemala, Bali, Mexico and Iran. These experiences helped shape her artistic style and deepen her fascination with color and form.
Throughout the 1960s, Binoux participated in prestigious exhibitions across France and internationally, including in Canada, Austria and Moscow.
