Cocody and SurviveHER bring Houston supporters together to honor breast cancer survivors
HOUSTON - Txylo -- Cocody Restaurant & Bar brought breast cancer survivors and community supporters together for Brunch with HER on Sunday, October 18th, in partnership with Houston-based nonprofit breast cancer organization SurviveHER. The gathering generated $500 in donations, which Cocody matched with an additional $500, presenting SurviveHER with a $1,000 check to support its mission.
In recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the brunch paired a special three-course dining experience with an opportunity to celebrate survivors, encourage connection and support access to breast health resources.
Thoughtful touches added to the celebration, with a pink rose at every table and a striking arrangement of roses and other flowers displayed on the bar at the center of the restaurant, courtesy of floral sponsor Amor del Bueno. Beauty brand Lovinah also donated its pink Royalty Body Oil for each woman attending the brunch to take home.

The inspiration for Cocody's involvement began with a visit from breast cancer survivors the previous year. After enjoying the restaurant's food, ambiance and signature pink décor, the women told owner Edith Bosso that the setting made them feel welcome and special. They suggested Cocody would be an ideal place to celebrate survivors, a conversation that helped inspire this year's partnership.
"Those women's words stayed with me because they reminded me how meaningful it is to feel welcomed and celebrated," said Bosso. "Brunch with HER gave us an opportunity to create that experience for others. By matching our guests' donations, Cocody was also able to extend that support to SurviveHER's important work."
SurviveHER provides breast health education, financial assistance, wellness resources and access to screenings, particularly for uninsured and underinsured women. The organization's work addresses need that continue well beyond Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
"As a survivor, I understand the importance of having a community that shows up for you," said Lyndsay Levingston, founder of SurviveHER. "We appreciate everyone who contributed and Cocody for matching those donations. This generosity helps support our efforts to connect women with education, screenings and resources throughout the year."
