The Tourism Friendly Texas Certified Community designation is a testament to the Aransas Pass Chamber of Commerce & Visitors Center's commitment to developing tourism as an economic growth strategy. Governor Abbott emphasized the importance of tourism to both local and state economies, stating that it supports one in 11 jobs in Texas. He also highlighted that travelers to and within Texas generate over $193 billion in annual economic impact and support 1.3 million jobs across the state.
He encouraged all Texas communities to apply for this designation, as it can further grow local tourism and create more jobs in the state. The governor praised Aransas Pass for earning this recognition and acknowledged that every region of Texas offers endless opportunities for visitors to experience its natural beauty, rich history, and true hospitality.
