~ Governor Greg Abbott has announced that the next 2024 Governor's Small Business Summit will be held in Plainview on Thursday, August 8. This summit, which is held throughout the year and in various regions across the state, aims to support small business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs by connecting them with valuable resources and information to help them start, strengthen, and grow their businesses.
In a statement, Governor Abbott emphasized the importance of small businesses in Texas, stating that "everything is bigger in Texas, and that includes our small businesses." With over 3 million small businesses employing nearly half of the state's workforce, Texas remains a top state for small business job growth. The governor also highlighted the opportunities and partnerships available for businesses of all sizes to thrive in Texas.
The Governor's Small Business Summit in Plainview will bring together local, state, and federal resource partners to provide insights on critical business topics. Attendees will also have the opportunity to network with other business owners and meet experts who will share timely advice on a variety of small business topics.

The summit will take place at the Plainview Municipal Country Club and Civic Center from 8:00am to 1:30pm. Registration is $20 and includes access to all sessions, resource providers, lunch, and complimentary headshots. Interested individuals can register at gov.texas.gov/events.
Registration is also open for upcoming summits in other locations throughout 2024. These include Odessa on August 22nd, Weatherford on September 5th, El Paso on September 19th, Buffalo on October 3rd, New Braunfels (Women-Focused) on October 17th, Sweetwater on October 31st, Wichita Falls (Veteran-Focused) on November 14th, and Kaufman on December 5th.
